Ways to sign in

Sign in to Todowl with Google, with Apple, with a passwordless link sent to your email, or with an email and password. Plus what demo mode does.

Updated:

Todowl runs at app.todowl.com and offers four ways in, plus a demo. They all end at the same account, and you can use different ones on different devices as long as the email matches.

Continue with Google

The fastest option if you already have a Google account. You are taken to Google’s own sign-in page, you approve, and you come back signed in. Todowl never sees your Google password.

Continue with Apple

The same flow through Apple. If you use Apple’s private relay address, that relay address becomes your Todowl account’s email, and it keeps working the same way as any other.

Choose Email me a sign-in link, type your address and we mail you a link. Opening it on the same device signs you in.

No password is created and none is needed. If you have never used Todowl before, this also creates the account, so it doubles as the simplest way to sign up.

The link is single use. Ask for another one if you lose it or it expires.

Email and password

The classic route. Creating an account this way asks for the password twice and requires at least 8 characters. Depending on how the server is configured you may need to confirm your email address before the first sign-in.

When a button is greyed out

The Google and Apple buttons are always visible, but Todowl checks with the server which providers actually have credentials configured. If one does not, the button is disabled with a short explanation rather than sending you to an error page.

If the check itself cannot run, for example because the network is unavailable, the buttons stay enabled and any real problem shows up as a normal error message after you click.

Demo mode

Try demo, no sign up needed opens the app filled with sample tasks, habits, notes and transactions. It is there so you can see what the app is actually like before deciding.

Demo data is sample data. Do not put anything real in it.

Common errors

  • Incorrect email or password. The credentials do not match an account. If you originally signed up with Google or Apple, there is no password to get right; use the same button you used the first time.
  • Confirm your email first. The account exists but the address has not been confirmed. Check your inbox, including spam.
  • This email already has an account. Sign in rather than creating a new one.
  • Too many attempts. A rate limit. Wait a minute and try again.
  • No connection to the server. A network problem on your side or ours, not a credentials problem.

Staying signed in

The session persists in the browser, so you do not need to sign in every visit. Signing out clears it on that device only, and the sign-out entry is at the bottom of the sidebar.
